Sarada Devi: Jivani Tatha Upadesh

A short life of Holy Mother with some of her teachings. Spirituality in practice is exemplified by the life of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi. Swami Vivekananda said, "The ideal exemplified by her life and teachings will not only provide a spiritual basis for the efforts for the emancipation of Indian women, but will also influence the minds and hearts of women all over the world and establish a place for themselves."1 Sri Sarada Devi lived not in a forest or a cave, but in an ordinary home where happiness and sorrow, illnesses, and tragedies occurred. While living amidst adverse circumstances and problems, she interacted with people of varied temperaments. Yet, she always maintained her mental peace and remained ready to serve all as a source of spiritual inspiration, regardless of their class, caste, or social standing.
